Meet TransformGSO’s Marketing Coordinator, Gabi Looney!

Gabi first came to us in the Fall of 2018 as a Marketing Intern then transitioned to part-time employee and now full-time Marketing Coordinator. She’s usually behind the scenes planning our social media and various marketing efforts. You will also see her assist with event and conference room rentals at Transform GSO.

Gabi graduated May of 2020 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She graduated as a marketing major at the Bryan School of Business. She’s excited to apply the skills she learned at UNCG to Transform GSO’s marketing and business development efforts.

Gabi’s favorite part of her job is working with entrepreneurs from many different fields.

“It’s really inspiring to work somewhere where creativity and new ideas are encouraged” she exclaims.

She also says that the city pride here is cool to see, and that it is so rewarding to see businesses succeed in our community.

“Being in Greensboro since I’ve been a kid, it’s encouraging to see exciting developments in our city. I love being around passionate entrepreneurs and small businesses that are committed to helping Greensboro move forward. The city pride is infectious here.”

In her spare time, Gabi loves to play with her Maltese/Yorkie mix, Diamond! For Halloween, she and Diamond were even matching soccer players! (Maybe “Diamond”s really are a girl’s best friend).

Pre-Covid, Gabi loved to rock climb at our local rock climbing gyms. While COVID-19 has made it hard to get out, she says she continues to get outside by running in her neighborhood and nearby parks.

When asked what helps her stay productive, Gabi explains that first thing in the morning she writes her to-do list in her planner, and tackles the most tedious thing first!

“I have a hard time not working at weird hours of the day,” she laughs, “I have to set certain times to work on tasks because it’s easy for me to get tied into working all hours of the day.”

We respect that work ethic!

We’re happy to have you, Gabi!
