Happy ThankstGSO
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Not the part about it being a celebration of a mythic event where my ancestors bilked the indigenous population of their land and then begged them for assistance to survive. I can’t change that part. I can only strive to do better than my ancestors and teach my descendants to do so as well, but what I do love about this myth is that the takeaway is all about giving thanks. In this present day world, that often feels like it has gone to hell in a hand basket, why wouldn’t we celebrate the opportunity to give something that costs us nothing, but the ripple effect of which can change lives, worlds and hand baskets.
What are a few of the things, I’m thankful for this year? The opportunity I have had to help build community at tGSO. The joy I have found in our members here, who have touched my life in ways I never could have imagined (seriously, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, that’s what coworking is all about!). The support, creativity and dedication of our tGSO team (what would I do without them?). And for tomatoes in the tGSO garden in November. The depth of my gratitude is immeasurable.

In a world where social media has given everyone a public voice, our conversations seem to have devolved into anger and devisiveness. Our goal with this exhibit is to provide a space in which we can put down our megaphones and explore ideas together. Whether we come to a place of agreement or not, the act of transforming the nature of our conversations opens us all up to the possibility of connection. These five masterful artists give us a platform, both intimate and detached, through which we can explore the nature of ideas through a unique lens.
