Coworking: The Social Solution
In an informal poll on LinkedIn, 34% of the respondents said they often felt lonely. In 2018, the Kaiser Family Foundation reported that 60 million Americans often or always felt lonely or isolated — and that was before the pandemic! Despite all the social media platforms designed to keep us connected, more and more of us are feeling detached and alone because real world interactions are on the decline. For many of us, the impact on our mental health is becoming as significant an epidemic as COVID.
That’s where Coworking comes in. Coworking can address some of the pain points involved with working from home: blurred lines between work and home, lack of human interactions that feed both our well-being and our creativity, and isolation induced lack of motivation, just to name a few. Coworking done right is all about the balance of professional and social connectivity. It invigorates the mind, inspires creativity and motivates those next steps, all the while feeding that need we all have for both personal and professional human connection. A conversation over a great cup of coffee with a new kindred spirit at your coworking space is an amazing antidote to that 5th video meeting of the day. Just sayin’.
All good things,
